We require all patients to have current radiographs. We take Panoramic, full series periapicals, and bitewing radiographs. We are cognizant of the radiation required to complete these films but adequate diagnosis cannot be made without them.
Pulp testing of the nerve contents of the tooth. This is performed in our office using Endo Ice and electronic pulp testing. These tests help us determine if the tooth/teeth are vital.
Compatibility testing is performed to determine which dental materials should be used.
This is important so that the patient does not form an immune response to the materials selected. This testing is an out of office blood test which is performed by the Clifford Reactivity Lab in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We also refer to EAV (Electro Acupuncture according to Vol) testing for this as well.
Topas testing is performed to determine if toxicity or protein breakdown in periapical or periodontal tissues is present.
PH testing is done to determine if the mouth is basic/neutral or acidic. All pathology begins in an acidic environment.
TMJ or Temporomandibular Joint function is screened for any signs or symptoms of TMJ or TM Dysfunction. The TMJ is the hinge joint of the lower jaw. We perform occlusion analysis and equilibration when indicated.
Oral Cancer screening on all new and recurrent recall visits.
Tooth analysis is checked for any signs of decay, abnormal wear, fractures or cracks and for cosmetics.
Periodontal evaluations on all recall and new patient exams.
Bana testing for halitosis.
Ultrasound "thru transmission sonography", Cavitat™ , to check the jawbones for abnormal bone.
Metal interaction and decay detection is preformed with the Pertec device to detect galvanism from dissimilar metals.
Medical and Dental referrals are made to assist our patients if we feel that specialized expertise be required.
